Repeating task issue on BlackBerry OS 4.5 and above
Unfortunately there’s a bug in the BlackBerry OS that prevents completion of some repeating tasks that are being synced to Remember The Milk with MilkSync for BlackBerry.
If you try to complete one of the affected repeating tasks, the Tasks application on the BlackBerry will subsequently crash and freeze the device (requiring the device to be restarted).
We’ve reported the issue to BlackBerry developer RIM, who have acknowledged the issue with BlackBerry OS 4.5 and above, and will be dealing with this appropriately. Unfortunately, RIM has not been able to provide a workaround to prevent the Tasks application from crashing, so we cannot resolve this in MilkSync.
In the meantime, if you do encounter this issue with your version of the BlackBerry OS, the following steps are a way that you can workaround the issue to complete affected tasks on your device:
- Open the task in the Tasks app
- Change status to ‘In Progress’
- Change status back to ‘Not Started’
- Save the task
- It’s now possible to complete the task
Alternatively, you might wish to complete your repeating tasks from the web app instead, or from the web-based mobile version on your BlackBerry.
